Having practised as a solicitor in the specialised field of family and divorce law over 30 years in London and Bristol, I am devoted to helping separating and divorcing clients who want to avoid the trauma of prolonged conflict to find solutions that they have had a part in rather than the court.

As a member of Resolution and a committed mediator and collaborative lawyer, I will always endeavour to minimise conflict. This is one of the most stressful and distressing times in a client's life. I recognise the importance of building a trusting relationship. As well as giving clear advice, I aim to provide support too.

I also assist parents or children in disputes over children arrangements, including applications for care order made by the local authority.

I also advise on pre nuptial agreements and cohabitee disputes.

I am also head of the family law team at Barcan Kirby ,the largest in Bristol, with 8 offices across Bristol and South Gloucestershire. We have recognised, that particularly since the abolition of most family legal aid , the importance of finding an affordable way of funding their legal advice and support. Consequently,in addition to offering a free initial consultation,we provide transparent fixed fees for most matters.

I have worked as a mediator with Bristol Family Mediators Association, BFMA, since 1995, being one of the first lawyers to train. I have helped many couples resolve their differences, clearly and fairly, often reaching agreement very quickly. I am committed to mediation as I have seen it help families reduce conflict.

Similarly I have been a collaborative practitioner since 2007 and have helped many couples work through the emotional, financial and legal issues in a way that enabled them to maintain dignity and respect.

When I am not working I enjoy socialising, spending time with the family , listening to music. I am also no stranger to the mountains, and try to get away for my fix of ski regularly!
